Samuel Powning & Katherine Coldridge of Alphington

Samuel Powning COLDRIDGE, born in Exeter in 1827, is the eldest son of Samuel Taylor & Maria COLDRIDGE. He married for a second time at the age of 57 and lived in Alphington. The following announcement appeared in the Gloucester Citizen on Friday 11th July 1884:

COLDRIDGE–LANDON. July 8, at Lyme Regis, by the Rev G H Barlow, Vicar, the Rev. S. P. COLDRIDGE, Vicar of Ide, Devon, to Katharine, third daughter of the late Charles Ginkell LANDON, Captain Bengal Army.

Samuel Powning COLDRIDGE's marriage to Katharine LANDON was registered in September 1884 in Axminster. Katharine was born around 1843 in Cutiack, India and so was about 41 when they married.

The following announcement appeared in the Bristol Mercury on Wednesday 3rd May 1893:

GIFFARD–COLDRIDGE. April 20, at Alphington, near Exeter, by the Rev. Harcourt Suft Anson, Arthur GIFFARD, youngest son of the late Edward GIFFARD, Esq., of the Admiralty, Whitehall, to Amy Beatrice, daughter of the Rev. Samuel Powning COLDRIDGE, The Lodge, Alphington, Devon.

Amy Beatrice COLDRIDGE's marriage to Arthur GIFFARD was registered in June 1893 in St Thomas.

Harry Wilton's marriage announcement appeared in the Exeter and Plymouth Gazette on Tuesday 16th April 1907:

COLDRIDGE–LANDON. On the 10th inst., at the Parish Church, Heavitree, Harry Wilton COLDRIDGE, of Yatigantota, Ceylon, only son of the late Rev. S. P. COLDRIDGE, formerly vicar of Ide, to Anna, youngest daughter of Colonel Aislabie LANDON (retired list, Bengal Infantry), of Heavitree, Exeter.

Harry Wilton COLDRIDGE's marriage to Anna LANDON was registered in June 1907 in St Thomas. However, they don't appear in the 1911 census.
