Robert & Mary Coldridge of Exeter

Robert COLDRIDGE, born in Doddiscombsleigh in 1827, is the youngest son of John & Betsey COLDRIDGE. In 1861 he was a carter on a farm in Trusham but a few years later he was working as a labourer in Exeter, where he married and had 1 son.

Robert COLDRIDGE's marriage at the aged of 36 to Mary Jane SERCOMBE of Doddiscombsleigh was registered in September 1863 in Exeter.

Parish records reveal that Mary Jane SERCOMBE was baptised on 25th January 1835 in Doddiscombsleigh. The 1861 census records her as a servant in the Osmond household at 14 Richmond terrace, Exeter St David.
