Daniel & Mary Jane Coldridge of Ontario

Daniel COLDRIDGE, born in Doddiscombsleigh in 1823, is the seventh son of John & Betsey COLDRIDGE. He was not recorded on the 1851 census as he had already emigrated to Canada in 1849. He lived with his wife Mary Jane in Egremont, Grey County, Ontario where they had 10 children:

Daniel COLDRIDGE's marriage at the age of 26 to Mary Jane CLEARE was registered in March 1849 in St Thomas.

Daniel & Mary Jane emigrated on a merchant ship which carried around 30 passengers to Canada and timber on the return journey. Their passage is recorded in the notebook of Captain John Crossman dated March 1849:

Daniel Coldridge, age 24, labourer. Deposit £1, Amount due £2, Total amount £3.

Mary Jane Cleare, age 22, servant. Deposit £1, Amount due £2, Total amount £3.

Daniel COLERIDGE's death, aged 91, was recorded on 5th May 1913 in Durham, Grey, Ontario. His date of birth is given as 10th March 1822, son of John COLERIDGE.

Selina Ann COLERIDGE's death, aged 53, was recorded on 11th January 1916 in Toronto, York, Ontario. Her parents are given as Daniel COLERIDGE & Mary J CLEARE.
