John & Jane COLERIDGE of Ottery St Mary

John Duke COLERIDGE, born in 1820, is the eldest son of John & Mary COLERIDGE of Bloomsbury. An announcement of his marriage appeared in the Exeter & Plymouth Gazette on 15th August 1846:

August 11, Freshwater, Isle of Wight, John Duke COLERIDGE. Esq., eldest son of the Hon. Mr. Justice COLERIDGE, to Jane Seymour Fortescue, third daughter of the Rev. G. T. SEYMOUR, of Farringford, Isle of Wight.

In 1881 John, who is widowed, is in Kensington with three of his children. Geraldine is incorrectly recorded as John's daughter when she is in fact Stephen's wife, and the young John D is their son.

Administration of the Personal Estate of the Right Honourable Jane Fortescue Baroness COLERIDGE (Wife of the Right Honourable John Duke Baron COLERIDGE) late of Heath's Court Ottery St. Mary in the County of Devon and of 1 Sussex-square in the County of Middlesex who died 6 February 1878 at 1 Sussex-square was granted at the Principal Registry to the said Right Honourable John Duke Baron COLERIDGE of Heath's Court and of 1 Sussex-square Lord Chief Justice of England. Personal Estate £313 12s.

There is a notice of Mildred's marriage in the Edinburgh Evening News on 24th June 1885:

ADAMS–COLERIDGE. The marriage of Charles Warren ADAMS and the hon. Mildred COLERIDGE took place this morning at St Matthias, Earl's-court. The ceremony was strictly private, and Lord COLERIDGE having refused his daughter's request to be present, no invitations were issued to the COLERIDGE family. All the immediate members of the late Lady COLERIDGE's family were present.
