John & Ann COLERIDGE of Ottery St Mary
John COLERIDGE, born in 1719, is the eldest surviving son of John & Mary COLERIDGE of Crediton, and there is a record of his second marriage in Exeter:
John COLERIDGE & Ann BOWDEN – Marriage 18th December 1753 in Exeter St Mary Arches. Both recorded as residing in South Molton.
In 1753, he became lecturer at Molland (5 miles east of South Molton), where he met his second wife, and was later curate there. In August 1760, he was appointed Schoolmaster and Chaplain Priest of the King’s Grammar School at Ottery, and shortly after appointed Vicar.
