James & Elizabeth Colridge of Torbryan

James COLRIDGE, born 1863, is the fifth son of Thomas & Elizabeth COLRIDGE of North Bovey. He lived in Torbryan with his first wife and they appear to have had no children. Their marriage was announced in the East & South Devon Advertiser on Saturday 11th April 1896:

DENBURY. Last Thursday a very pretty and stylish wedding took place in the Parish Church here. The contracting parties were Mr. James COLRIDGE, of Ipplepen, and Miss Elizabeth Ann FARLEIGH, of Denbury. Mr. Simon COLRIDGE, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Miss Polly COLRIDGE, niece of the bridegroom, and Miss E WINSER, cousin of the bride, were the bridesmaids.

James COLRIDGE, age 32, Bachelor, Butcher, son of Thomas COLRIDGE, Butcher, married Elizabeth Ann FARLEIGH, aged 33, Spinster, daughter of James FARLEIGH (deceased), Farmer, on 9th April 1896 in the Parish Church of Denbury. Both signed. Witnesses M G COLRIDGE and S COLRIDGE.

James COLRIDGE's marriage to Elizabeth Ann FARLEIGH was registered in June 1896 in Newton Abbot.
